We use music to set the body free
to settle the mind
and open the heart.
WHAT IS MAC TALLA?
Mac Talla is a music-driven somatic practice designed to free the mind by exercising the body. By releasing pent-up tension and freeing up blocked energy, students reconnect to their intuition, clarity and sense of ease.

Mac Talla is a Somatic Embodiment Practice
Somatic practices reunite us with our body. We use movement to perceive our body from within, to know ourselves beyond our thoughts and stories. If its hard to know how we feel about something, a Somatic practice will put us in touch with our emotions. For those that feel too much, a Somatic practice allows you to witness more neutral, tolerable sensations and to find places of quiet refuge. These practices take us into the symbolic landscape of the inner body, that uses images, memories, shapes, colors and movement to communicate. To navigate that landscape, we use the breath, our points of contact, and our center. They become felt landmarks, anchors and guides to staying grounded.
"Mac Talla is the perfect middle ground between axe throwing and talk therapy."

What to Expect:
CLASS MUSIC: Expect to move to a new playlist every class. You will hear a massive variety of music with deep cuts from all genres. From ambient and classical to hip hop and electronica, each song connects to our irresistible need to move. CLASS STRUCTURE: This class is set to music, but there’s no choreography to follow—you're not required to dance (though some people enjoy it!). You may choose to follow the teacher’s lead by repeating simple movements and then let them evolve over time. Throughout the class, we’ll consistently return to focusing on our points of contact, breath, and center. Each song will offer a simple directive—like rise/fall, push/pull, or open/close—and you’re welcome to use familiar movements (yoga poses, stretches, or other exercises), or feel free to explore spontaneous gestures. The most important thing is that this class is self-paced. You are always encouraged to listen to your body and do what feels right for you. If you're unsure of how to move or feel stuck, simply mirror the teacher’s movements or repeat a simple gesture, then allow it to evolve naturally. When we create space for whatever arises, it has the chance to shift and move on.
