Fundamental Skills for Moving & Feeling Better
Service Description
This Gentle Class is taught as a group class (vs the Therapeutic Class where each student has an Assistant guiding them). Expect to learn fundamental yoga skills in a slower, gentler way (simpler poses, often with the support of props or the wall, with adaptations for those with chronic conditions or limited range of motion). Students should be able to get up and down from the floor (able to use your own hands, feet, or a chair) and have their doctor's permission to participate in yoga/exercise classes. Practice fundamental movements (bending over, reaching arms overhead, twisting. etc.) with proper alignment. Stabilize areas that move to much to improve your range of motion in areas that are stuck, guarded or weak. This Gentle Class is ideal for "graduates" of the Therapeutic Class, but for whom Sarah's Steady & Strong Class (Level 1-2) on Fridays mornings is too intense. This Gentle Class may also be appropriate for clients that take individual privates and would like to expand their practice to include a safe, alignment-based group class.
